C.A. Gray Junior High math teacher, Mrs. Erica Player, chose to try flexible seating in her classroom this year after reading several articles about how it can benefit student learning. Having completed more than a quarter of the school year, she says that one of the most positive outcomes of her new classroom setting has been the students' attitudes toward coming to class. Mrs. Player explains that some students still prefer desks, but others enjoy standing up, sitting on a yoga ball, or working from a bean bag on the floor. She plans to continue exploring how classroom setup can improve student learning.
