Eighth grade ELA students read and annotate literary texts -- 3.17.17

Students in Mrs. Betsy Andrews’s and Mr. Mitchell McKinney’s eighth grade ELA classes are studying how to read and annotate literary texts. Part of this standard includes dissecting a story-line and understanding a plot diagram. Students are watching four different Pixar short films, completing a plot diagram for each film, and then writing a narrative (story) based on the plot of one of the films. They will add important details to the stories such as character names, descriptions, and dialogue. Plot diagram charts and narratives will be displayed around the school for other students to read and enjoy. This activity helps prepare students on how to write a narrative on the Milestones assessment in a few weeks.
